To celebrate International Kimchi Day, Vancouver’s Korean Drama Addicts (KDA) Club has organized a kimchi-making class with us, where you’ll learn how to make Traditional Poggi Kimchi (whole cabbage kimchi)!

With/On Kimchi & Sauces will be leading this Special "Gimjang" Event where you’ll get an introduction to Kimchi-making, followed by a small tasting of delicious kimchi and other banchan. After the class you’ll take your kimchi home to ferment and enjoy!

In Korea, November is the annual time of family and community kimchi-making known as “Gimjang”. It takes place once the weather starts to cool down, after Chuseok, the fall harvest holiday. Gimjang is a time for families and communities to come together and make winter kimchi for the coming months.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the class size is limited to 15, and there will only be 2 class times, so please register ASAP as spaces will fill quickly.

Time: Choose either 2:30pm - 4:00pm OR 4:45pm - 6:15pm

Location: Vancouver Ceramics, 8827 Selkirk Street, Vancouver

Price: $35 (includes GST)

  • Ingredients & containers to make your own Poggi Kimchi to take home
  • Variety of banchan, kimchi, rice and bindaetteok (savoury mung bean pancakes)
